Group to sue police over Fulani herdsmen attack

An Igbo socio-political and cultural organization, Igbo Improvement Union (a.k.a. Oganiru Ndigbo), said it had directed its lawyers to institute legal action against the police and the military for failing to protect the people of Ukpabi -Nimbo community, Enugu State who were murdered by Fulani herdsmen.

The governor of Taraba State,   Darius Ishaku, has denied that his state was in any agreement or among the eleven states that donated 55,000 hectares of land for the implementation of federal government’s programe for grazing reserves.

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has disclosed that attacks by Fulani herdsmen have robbed him of his ancestral home, lamenting that his home town was not only sacked by the armed cattle rearers, but that over 50 of his kinsmen had been killed with over 200 hectares of his rice farm set ablaze.

Boko Haram Militants Strike Near Maiduguri


At least six civilians were killed when Boko Haram militant attacked a village near Maiduguri last night, vigilantes and resident said. Boko Haram insurgents stormed a village of Ladi Butai in Jere LGA of area Borno State,  opened fire on villagers at about 9 pm killing, not fewer than 6 people and injured scores others. Commander of Civilian JTF, who does not want his name printed known told Saharareporters that they Boko Haram militants overpowered the CJTF stations in the village and succeeded in killing unarmed villagers.
