See Faces Of Men Who Murdered Kano Trader For Alleged Blasphemy



A 75-year-old Igbo trader identified as Mrs. Bridget Agbahime was last week mobbed by Muslim youths in Kano for allegedly blaspheming Prophet Mohammed.


Following the murder which occurred in Kofar Wambai Market, Kano, the persons responsible for the gruesome murder have been arrested alongside his alleged cohorts.

Today, the Kano state police arraigned five men, the leader of the group, Dauda Ahmad and his alleged accomplices, Abdullahi Mustapha, Zubairu Abubakar, Abdullahi Abubakar and Musa Abdullahi before Chief Magistrate Court on a four-count charge.

The court charged the accused parties with incitement, culpable homicide and mischief, based on sections 144, 80, 51 and 327 of the penal code.

The leader of the group and prime suspect, Dauda Ahmad, was also accused of leading others to attack Mrs. Agbahime which resulted in her death.

Ahmad and his cohorts if found guilty are faced with serious sentences as Ahmad could be sentenced to death.
