Lay down arms, work with me to review amnesty program - Buhari pleads with Niger Delta Avengers

Following the latest bombings on Friday of the Escravos pipeline linking Warri with Lagos, President Muhammadu Buhari has pleaded with the militants to lay down their arms, work with his administration to review the amnesty programme initiated by the President Umaru Yar'Adua.
He made the plea in Abuja on Friday while reacting to the news of the bombing at the State House, Abuja.

While speaking at a meeting with the Global Director (Upstream) of the Royal Dutch Shell Group, Andrew Brown, President Buhari reassured the Shell Boss that he had directed the Chief of Naval Staff to reorganise and strengthen the military Joint Task Force (JTF) in the Niger Delta to address  the resurgence of militancy and the sabotage of oil installations.
The president further urged aggrieved persons, militants and communities in the Niger Delta to drop their confrontational stance and work with those who have been charged by the Federal Government to review the Amnesty Programme initiated by the Yar’Adua Administration for the benefit of all parties.
Recall the Anglo-Dutch oil conglomerate had threatened to pull out of Nigeria if the bombings continue adding that its workers and facilities are no longer  safe.
On enquiry, the Shell Boss dispelled the rumour that the company is not pulling out of Nigeria but appealed to the president for an urgent solution to the rising militancy in the Niger Delta.
