OSHIOMHOLE WOOS STUDENTS, YOUTH GROUPS, MARKET WOMEN AND RELIGIOUS LEADERS FOR PRO-GOVERNMENT 1 MILLION MAN MARCH

Urhokpota Reporters can confirm that Oshiomhole has intensify preparation to ensure that his proposed I million man march is achieved. Several meetings have been heard with Students leaders from different tertiary institutions in the State. While Students of University of Benin and Ambrose Ali University seems to be reluctantly cooperating with the plan, student leaders from Colleges of Iguoriakhi and Ekiadoolor are resisting the attempt to be dragged into the protest owing to the callous abandonment of their institution since the Comrade Governor took over the reins of government in the State. The government idea is to have 100 students from each faculty of all the tertiary institutions in the State. Attempts have also been made to approach market
women with a threat to join the protest or be prepared to forfeit their shops. However, the market women are yet to properly organise themselves for the rally because of the numbers of persons required. Religious leaders have also been approached to be part of the rally to give it some for of credibility but it is not clear the religious leaders that have been approached and their position on the said protest. Governor Oshiomhole has insisted that the protest must hold despite several failed attempt to galvanise a critical mass of people for the rally. The government has recently organised youths and an all white women rally in support of his administration. Analysts have said these pro-government protest is an indication that the Comrade governor has lost popular support and in desperate need to shore it up.
