How Oyegun diverted our December salary – APC workers

The All progressives congress, APC, is set for a new wave of crisis as its staffs have bemoan the poor state of their welfare and neglect by its chairman John Oyegun, stating that the party only paid its workers a paltry N1500 as December salary.

In an exclusive interview with POST NIGERIA, a staff at the party’s National Secretariat in Wuse 2, Abuja who begged anonymity blamed the poor state of their welfare on the corruption being perpetuated by its chairman Oyegun, adding that party’s hierarchy is divided and most state governors are presently plotting his removal.

“We are in a difficult situation now, we have been hiding this injustice for a long time but we can take it anymore. It was just yesterday (Tuesday 22nd December) the deputy chairman of the party Engineer Segun Oni that distributed N1000 and N1500 to some of us just to douse the anger. And he distributed bags of rice to us.

“The party chairman has refused to release moneys given to him by state governors for the operations of the secretariat, so the governors have stopped given him money as they are plotting for his removal now.”

During the interview, our source was shocked that the news of their unpaid salaries had made the news. He however stated that the workers are presently holding a strategic meeting and would come out with a final decision on the matter.

Recall that a journalist Emma Alozie had earlier reported that staffs of the party were already grumbling on the harsh conditions being meted on them by the party over unpaid salaries, with some already concluding plans of celebrating the Christmas holiday without even a grain of rice or any other Christmas package.

It appears the APC which have championed the mantra of change still have the semblance of what was obtainable during the era of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, where state governors were major financiers of the party’s budget. With this latest revelation, the call by the PDP for an independent probe of APC’s campaign funds is legitimate.

When POST NIGERIA tried to contact the National chairman of his own comment on the issue, all contacts were unavailable.
