Container crushes seven to death in Ramadan tragedy


No fewer than seven persons were killed and 12 others injured when a 40-foot container fell off a truck in the Alakija area on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway on Wednesday.

The Nigerian entertainment industry has once again lost one of its rare gems, Zainab Bukky Ajayi, who blessed the world with her inimitable acting talent. She passed on at the age of 82, at about 11am yesterday. Reports say that she has been battling with a heart related condition before she passed on at her Surulere residence. Before her death, she left an order to have her buried immediately; therefore she was laid to rest at Atan Cementery at 4pm.

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari Friday tendered an unreserved apology to the Senate over statements by his Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Prosecution, Okoi Obono- Oblo that the Senate lacked the powers to summon Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami to explain why he dragged the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and two others to court over alleged forgery of the Senate Standing Order.
