Governor Oshiomole paid Edo youths to protest against IZE-IYAMU in Benin City

The pro-government protest currently going on in some part of Benin metropolis confirmed our earlier report of the planned protest by the government.

What is however strange in the manner the protest is being carried out is the attention a People's Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant seems to be getting.

One would have thought that a pro government protest of this nature will have placards highlighting the achievements of the Comrade government, instead the protesters choose to display placards with inscriptions such as "We don't want Ize-Iyamu" "Ize-Iyamu can never rule Edo Statel".

One of the protesters Osaretin Edobor who spoke to Urhokpota Reporters while asked the reasons for the attention on Ize-Iyamu says "You know every protest has an aim and the aim of this protest according to our mobilizer is to show to the people why Ize-Iyamu should be ignored.

When quizzed further on why they chose Ize-Iyamu, he said "I don't know but that is what the government said we should do" Efforts to speak to the leader of the group proved abortive as he was neck dip in the protest.

Our findings however, revealed that the reason for the protest is the fear the government has for the possible candidature of Ize-Iyamu which analyst has predicted could unseat the APC and bring the PDP back to power in Edo State because of his growing influence across the youths and elites which is also largely due to the perceived failure of Comrade Oshiomhole 2nd term administration.
